Vedham Nagaiah Passed Away

Nagaiah, who played the role which is the care-of-address to the hardships in the film Vedam directed by Krish, breathed his last on Saturday due to illness. The cinematic journey that began with the Vedas lasted until the thirty movies. 

In Vedham, a character asks you are a weaver why don’t you wear some good clothes. “ఇళ్లు కట్టేవాడికి ఇళ్లుండదు, చెప్పులు కుట్టేవాడికి చెప్పులుండవు.. మాపరిస్థితి కూడా అంతే,” he says. The dialogue became extremely popular and he became Vedham Nagaiah since then. 

Nagaiah, a native of Narsarao Peta, Guntur district, reached Hyderabad facing a lot of difficulties. It was there that producer Radhakrishna who spotted him gave him a chance in Vedham. He has acted in many films like `Vedam`, Nagavalli, Okkadine, Student‌ Star, Yem Maaya Chesave, Ramaya Vasthavayya, Spider, etc. He used to receive around Rs 3,000 to Rs 25,000 as remuneration. But his career was short-lived. Death of his wife, Nagaiah finally had to beg due to lack of film opportunities. Recently, MAA Association announced a pension of 2,500 Rupees per month for him.
