Telugu film industry seems to be trying to find solutions for its long-pending problems during this Pandemic. The Telugu Film Producers Council calls for the setting up of an In-house Digital Projection. They claim that this is to save costs establishing Direct connection with Exhibitors in the Telugu States.
They allege that Qube, UFO, etc., are having different rules for different languages and claims a loot is happening. Virtual Print Charges (VPF) are levied on the Producers whenever their films are screened in a theater with third party digital equipment. This has become a burden for small and medium budget films.
This seems to be a fight against the VPF system. There are no VPF charges for Hollywood films while the VPF charges for Bollywood films are very nominal when compared to the Regional films. It has to be seen how the Digital Service Providers respond to this.Follow @THEPANIPURI
