Rumors are thick that Telangana Government is contemplating to close down the theaters or cut the occupancy to 50% in the wake of increasing Coronavirus cases in the state. To clear air, Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav had issued a clarification regarding the same.
“Industry and the families dependent on the industry have suffered a lot during the Lockdown. There is no plan to shutdown the theaters. Please do not spread such rumors and create panic in the stakeholders. Theaters will continue to function as how they are doing with 100% occupancy taking COVID-19 safety measures,” he said.
This announcement has come as a relief and to all the stakeholders involved in the film trade. However, they are praying that the things would not go out of hands and the government will be forced to impose restrictions in the coming days. As of now, the state is recording around 400 cases per days – highest this year.Follow @THEPANIPURI
