There is a strong buzz that the Government of India is going to allow the film theaters to open from August 1st in the next phase of Unlock. Sources say that the theaters will be allowed to operate only with 25% of their total occupancy to ensure COVID Precautions.
However, Senior Filmmaker, Suresh Babu does not feel that it is a good idea. Suresh Babu who has more than four hundred theaters under lease across Telugu states says he wouldn’t reopen his theaters even if the restrictions are lifted.
“With the audience having to spend three hours in a film theater, it is highly risky to open theaters now. That only means risking the lives of the audience. Moreover, it is not feasible for the filmmakers or the stakeholders to operate at 25% occupancy. So, we need to wait until normalcy is restored,” he said.Follow @THEPANIPURI
