The film theaters in Tamil Nadu re-opened on the occasion of Diwali. Two small films made their way to the theaters. Some theaters remained closed while the rest have opened screening these films. The theaters which reopened had fairly decent crowds on the festival day due to fresh festival content.
The urban areas had higher occupancy over semi-urban and rural. The trade says the occupancy would have been even better if not for the rains. “The crowds are okay considering the present scenario but cannot be compared to previous festival collections.
However, we are sure the theater footfalls will increase shortly when star content is screened,” the exhibitors say. Tollywood is likely to take a shot at bringing the audience to theaters by releasing Sai Dharam Tej’s Solo Brathuke So Better for Christmas. It will be the first notable Telugu film which will hit the screens after the Pandemic brought the industry to its knees.Follow @THEPANIPURI
