It looks like it is going to be a long road for recovery to the film industry since the Corona cases are still rising in the country. Meanwhile, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is mulling ways to finish the online certification of films.
This is to ensure the Zero Contact film certification process. The CBFC will hold consultations with filmmakers on August 6th to discuss ways to make the process of online certification of films easier, and the regulatory framework simple. The plan is to ensure that the Online film certification will continue even after the Corona Crisis.
On the other side, there are reports that the Government of India is also mulling on making film certification compulsory for OTT content as well. The Government already asked the platforms to come up with an agreeable code. That is likely to be a reality very soon.
