No IPL-Less 2020: Saurav Ganguly

This year’s IPL has been postponed indefinitely due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The cancellation of the tournament will inflict a loss of 4000 Crore for the BCCI. So, the Sports Body is exploring all possible options to conduct the tournament.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly hoped that 2020 will not be complete without the IPL. “We are waiting for the clarity on ICC T20 World Cup. Cricket will start for sure and we will have IPL in 2020. Hosting it in India will be our first choice always but we do not know,” he said.

New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and the UAE have offered to host the event in case there are logistical issues in India with the rapid rise in coronavirus cases. However, all the major cities in India like Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, and Hyderabad are reporting a huge number of Corona Cases.
