He tries to become close to Ganesh’s gang so that he can learn more about Ganesh. Atharva spies on Ganesh to know more about him and will be caught red handedly by Ganesh. He explains to Ganesh that he is only spying to make a film and no other ill intentions. Ganesh agrees to tell his own story to Atharva. Rest of the story is how Atharva makes a film on Ganesh and how that film impacts his life

Artistes’ Performances:

  • Varun Tej excelled in the role of Gaddalakonda Ganesh. This is definitely one of his best performance
  • Atharva acted well too
  • Pooja Hedge has a brief role and did justice to her role
  • Satya got a lengthy role and generated few laughs
  • Actor Brahmaji also generated few laughs

  • Varun Tej’s Performance
  • Some Comedy Episodes
  • Background Score
  • Mass Appeal

  • Dragged 2nd Half
  • Duration Of the Film

Valmiki (aka Gaddalakonda Ganesh) is a remake of Tamil blockbuster Jigarthanda. Harish Shankar, who is going through a rough phase post Gabbar Singh directed the film and Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta bankrolled it under their new banner 14 Reels plus. We have to say that this movie is Varun’s one man show and his performance keeps you glued. First half of the movie keeps you engaged and has decent comedy and second half of the movie has uneven pace and has some forced comedy scenes. At 3 hours, Valmiki definitely feels like a lengthy film which could have  been trimmed in 2nd half. Background score is good and elevates the scenes. Harish Shankar is back to his senses and delivered on the remake. This may definitely appeal to masses and for those who haven’t watched the original version.
