Punchline : A Wasted Opportunity
Nasser, who is a Chief Minister of the State will make his Son Varun, who is a reckless joyful young man, a CM to prove his innocence in some alleged scam. Varun, who likes to booze and party continues to be playful CM till some riots that happen on arresting his father. Story takes a turn from there and Varun learns Rajneeti slowly and learns to navigate the political space and resolves many issues. Nasser starts to suspect if Varun is going to take his Throne away and wants to get the CM seat back. Rest of the story is how Varun handles the difficulties caused by his father and wins the confidence vote.
Vijay Deverakonda, who is riding high after the success of Geeta Govindam came up with a political drama “NOTA”, which was released with lot of hype in both Tamil and Telugu. Anand Shankar, who delivered decent movies like Arima Nambi and Irumurugan in Tamil, failed to use Vijay Deverakonda to his full potential. Telugu people have already seen movies like Leader, Bharat Ane Nenu which have similar story line where the sons are made chief ministers and how they deal with the situations and solve problems. In NOTA, there is not even a single impactful scenes that will make you feel wow! Tamil people may find some scenes related to their state but Telugu people may not connect to this. All in all, NOTA is a wasted opportunity for Vijay Deverakonda.
