Deva (Nagarjuna), who was not seen by anyone controls a big mafia and an opposite mafia syndicate kills his father to bring him to the city. Deva comes to the city to avenge his father’s death and will be hurt by police in a shootout. Das(Nani), a MBBS doctor and a gold medalist, treats Deva for his injuries in his clinic and doesn’t spill the beans about Deva’s whereabouts to anyone. Deva and Das friendships starts from there and Das wants to change Deva and tries to get him into a love trap with Deva’s lady interest Jahnavi (Akanksha Singh). Rest of the story is how Deva changes and becomes a good human being. Pooja’s(Rashmika) character has some twists and don’t want to spoil them for you.

Artistes’ Performances:

  • Nagarjuna nailed as Deva and he looked so handsome. You will not believe that he is 59 Years Old

  • Nani’s perfectly suited Das role and he generates many laughs and his acting in emotional scenes touches your heart

  • Rashmika’s role is wasted

  • Kunal Kapoor is also wasted and doesn’t have any meaty role

  • Akanksha is just okay

  • Nag-Nani’s Bromance

  • Comedy Elements

  • Some emotional scenes

  • Second Half

  • Routine & Predictable Story

  • Songs

Devadas, which is a big multi starrer in recent times had high expectations because of the star cast and also Sriram Aditya, who delivered some decent flicks like Bhale Manchi Roju and Shamanthakamani.  The Story line for Devadas is pretty weak as it has nothing novel (it has shades of Shankar Dada MBBS, Analyze this). The bromance between Nag-Nani really came out well and would be a treat to watch. There are some good emotional scenes too and a message about Organ donation. Comedy also works in parts. The movie loses it in its second half, where the movie feels rushed and villain’s character doesn’t have any weight at all. Overall, Devadas is one time watch if you don’t mind watching routine commercial flicks.
