Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan was supposed to be canned in Madhya Pradesh this month but the schedule has been canceled due to the spike in COVID cases across the state. The movie shooting has been 70% completed so far.
The makers are planning to release the movie for Sankranthi in January 2021. The film’s next schedules will take place in Chennai and Hyderabad. The movie is a historical drama based on Ponniyin Selvan, a Tamil novel by writer Kalki, which traces the life of the great Chola emperor Arulmozhi Varman.
The promotions of the film will begin very soon. Mani Ratnam often termed this Project as his Dream Project and is making it on a large canvas. Produced by Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, AR Rahman is composing the music for the film and Ravi Varman cranks the camera.Follow @THEPANIPURI
