In a bid to tackle the COVID-induced crisis in the film industry, Tamil Film Active Producers Association led by veteran director Bharathiraja has appealed to all actors and technicians who get a remuneration of over Rs 10 lakh to take a 30% cut in their salaries.
This for films that were under production and stuck due to COVID-19. Recently, the Active Telugu Film Producers Guild (ATFPG) and the Movie Artists Association (MAA) announced a 20% reduction in remunerations of all the artists who take more than 20,000 per day.
Also, the technicians who draw over Five Lakh Per film are also given a 20% pay cut. It looks like the Tamil film industry is keen on emulating a similar model. But then, it is just an appeal for now and it has to be seen how the stakeholders respond to the call.Follow @THEPANIPURI
