Government's Crucial Meeting To Decide About Re-Opening of Theaters

Even though the Coronavirus cases are increasing, the Union Government had allowed everything to open except for the film theaters and educational institutions. Reports are that the Central Government may allow that from October 1st.

There is no consensus in the Exhibition Sector regarding the re-opening. Multiplexes Association has been demanding a chance for a long time while Single Screen Theaters are not keen on operating at lower capacities and spending a lot on safety measures.

Union Government had called for a meeting with the Cinema and Multiplex Industries Association to decide about the Unlock. A Union Home Secretary will take their inputs and forward their opinions to the Government. This meeting will happen on September 8th via Video Conferencing.
