Maharashtra Government has become the first state government in the country to allow the re-opening of cinema theaters. The state government which has started the process of Unlock allowed theaters in Mumbai and most districts of the state to function with 50% occupancy from Monday.
Hopefully, this will be the start of Indian cinema’s redemption. The Telugu film industry is hoping for theaters to open with 50% occupancy towards the end of July or early August. Even though the cases in Telangana are on a decline, Andhra Pradesh is still logging over 10,000 cases.
But the state is already showing signs of decline. The small films and medium budget films may release initially with 50% occupancy. The big films, however, may wait for the Dussehra season hoping that things will become normal by then and the 100% occupancy is allowed.Follow @THEPANIPURI
