Andhra Pradesh Government is adamant about the issues of the Telugu film industry. The Government has amended the Cinematography act mandating filmmakers to sell tickets at Government prescribed rates and only four shows a day. The ticketing should happen through its own Online Ticketing Platform.
With this move, AP Government may have taken the Telugu film industry back by at least 10-15 years. This is a big blow to the Big Budget Films. Megastar Chiranjeevi had released a public statement requesting the Government to relook the ticket prices for the industry to survive.
He asked Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to bring the ticket fare is equal to the other states as GST is also uniform across the country. He also said that many families are dependent on the Telugu film industry, and it can only survive when there is support from the government’s side. Even though the government is not sympathetic to the industry, Chiranjeevi is still in request mode.Follow @THEPANIPURI
