AP Corona Strain Causing India Second Wave

India is the hotbed of Coronavirus cases with the Second Wave. Experts say that a strain first originated in Kurnool is said to be causing the spike in the Coronavirus cases across the country. The strain is called AP Strain because it was first discovered in Kurnool.

The strain is at least fifteen times more virulent than the earlier ones. Experts say that the strain maybe even stronger than the Indian variants of B1.617 and B1.618. On the other side, on Tuesday, India reported 3,57229 new cases, taking the overall case count past the 2 crore mark to 2,02,82833.

Only the US, with more than 3.3 crore cases so far, has recorded a higher count. Ten states account for 71% of Covid cases in the country. On the other side, experts say that imposing a Nationwide Lockdown may be the only way to overcome this wave.
